I think these think it is real; actually it was a quite pleasant day even though some of these didn't like to be photographed, but I reckon if they dress up and look the business they should be. Don't understand the dressing up part otherwise.
So I was treated to Glenn Miller and George Formby, the girl in the overalls could sing but I still think I prefer Vera Lynn, even had the sound of a Spitfire overhead.
Of course I do not mind and Thankyou for the encouragement
May I ask what other processing steps you used on your version?
the session did get off to a very bad start, I could not get my Birthday/mothers day present of pocket wizards to fire at all
So reverted to using the camera pop up flash to fire the speed light, luckily this system seems to work ok indoors, but it is confusing what I did wrong, as they worked fine again when I got home and tested them....oh dear..
I have duplicate the layer to begin with.
I have adjusted the curve to make it darker looking at all the areas but the baby.
I made a very soft mask on the most important areas: the mother and the baby.
I then made ... oh well I can't remember any more
But I am sure that I have done a lens blur - the computer have been very busy for a minute or so - with a mask carefully applied over the most important areas and trying to make it as soft as possible. Kind of disguised, you know...
The play with the curves made the mother rather red/orange what is not a good choice.
I have cropped at 3/4 and applied the canvas.
I would have rotated the image a bit but it was not possible.
When I saw the photo I thought that there was too much arm in it. Being white was not good either.
Thankyou - I understand
Kay, this is wonderful! my eye goes, of course, to baby but, also, back and forth between baby and mums face. Very sweet! (and, I would never have guessed that it was "onboard" flash. It looks very soft and natural to my eyes.) I like Antonio's edit, too. Well! You photographer, you....!
Thank you Katy - the most obvious part of Antonio's edit is cropping some of Mums arm, it just leaps out at me, but I never noticed it before....
