Dave,
I'm the last person that can speak about portrait...
in my humble opinion, the weakest point of this image is the front direction of the light (flash, I suppose) that makes the subject flat...
anyway, in my opinion is much more important the feeling that a picture can produce in the observer than how much the picture is technically correct.
In this case I think that your picture is very important for you and for anyone knows him so it is a good picture!
I have been asking myself if it was good for CinC what happened here. I mean the language misunderstanding and all that stuff !
I can't glimpse one - not one - advantage to CinC. Am I wrong ?
Advantages to me ? No doubt: I feel more free these days. I am less "important" now.
Thank you Nicola.
Me no understand Antonio. Is it something I did or didn't do? or are you replying to Nicola? I'm confused... Nothing new there then
Long story Dave. Absolutely nothing with you.
It was a language interpretation of mines.
I speak and write better than "Me no understand..." Dave
The misunderstanding started here and I - me, je, eu, ich - was the responsable for that.
Not sure what's happening with this thread, folks, but as Joanne has taken the trouble to post, I'm sure she'd like a reply, right? This is a lovely family group. Expressions are warm and natural, these people clearly like their photographer! Everyone looks quite suntanned - is that so? I suppose a little more difference in tone between the figures and the background would give more impact, and the plant behind the heads of the two central figures is a bit distracting. Maybe if the background had been more blurred? But the portraits are very nice, a happy glow for us to enjoy.
