Great cloning job, what a lovely looking mutt, great focus on the face and eyes, you have captured a lovely facial expression

Well this week I had time to go back to Joe Pool Lake and retake some photos I did not like the last time I was there. This is a working wind mill. I could not decide if it was better to capture it showing the fan turning or static, then I had to decide color or black and white.

Well composed. Beautiful smooth motion blur on the windmill.
Very nicely composed - great photo!
Sam - I'd say you called it correctly on both counts. And I love the texture you've got into the timbers of the shed. Nor would I ask people to ignore the precise angle you decided to shoot from; i.e. the choices about composition. Any further left and you would have been too head-on. Further right and the shed's length would have started to unbalance the image, in my opinion. I think you got it just right.
Only thing I wondered about - cloning out that highest twig on the right hand side that's just creeping into the frame.
Lovely image.
Well maybe your subject is 'nothing special' Sam, because the bulk of it is in shadow. But I would say that you have done everything possible with this scene, the focus and exposure are good. I wouldn't change anything here.
Yes - nothing wrong with the photo but perhaps at a different time of day you might get some light that creates a bit more interest to the scene.
Very nice job on the windmill shot Sam...
Nice take, I really like the windmill shot. I have some of those from the old homestead, but they are buried deep in an old hard drive.
Your last shot also is composed well, just missing something I can't put my eye on. Perhaps it is the lighting as others have mentioned.
Again, well done.
Hi Sam, I enjoyed the B&W windmill shot, positioning is good, nice and clear, the contrasting textures come out well in monochrome. The Fort Worth image looks a little washed out perhaps ? but as an image I find it quite pleasing to the eye, the top of the building is in the frame, just, and the background looks interesting, in focus nice and sharp.
Thanks for all the comments and feedback. I wasn't sure of the Ft Worth shot. Still not. The building is truly a hard shot to take in kind of good light. May have to be there just at day break to get even lighting.
First I would like to take the time to apologize for not being active in the project 52 as I should have been. We have had a death in the family that prevent me doing almost anything the last week and half.
This week I managed to get out and go to the Japanese Gardens and took this pic of the slow water feature. Very little PP has been done at all.

Very nice Sam...
My condolences and best wishes Sam.
Looks good given the minimal PP - probably could use a slight clockwise rotation with the perspective that's there.
Well he's a cute fella. Golder retrievers always seem to have very soulful eyes. I think I would have liked a bit more DoF to get his ears a bit sharper as well but still a very nice capture.
What a beautiful head. My 14 yo Lab used to have a head like that, but as he's lost muscle mass the last couple years his head has gotten all knobby. I like the closeup/tight crop. A keeper for his album
