    Nicola,
Lovely soft lighting. Excellent use of the flash again! I agree about cropping this higher - the lower body is a bit distracting.

    Bella fotografia,
    Ciao,
    Nigel.

so I'm here with fresh pics for my project 52
yesterday the snow falled down in my city, and it's a rare phenomena along this coast (even if we have many ski villages at 2 hours by car)
metering the light in these conditions have been quite hard for me.. never shot in the snow in the early morning...
here acouple taken in the same location of CW02 pic
    thanks for viewing and comments!
    ciao

That is a very professional use of flash. This demonstrates a high degree of skill and I compliment you for that.

    thanks Donald!
honstly, also ACR help me: the SOOC pic (soon I post it) was a bit underexposed (the wall was a light gray), so I pumped a bit of exposure, I also adjusted with some fill light and finally I added saturation with a mask on her skin..
    cheers

The conventional wisdom being that you don't crop the lower legs it might be worthwhile to see how the photo looks cropped a little bit higher. I might be inclined to try and clone the bottle on the left out as well. A beautifully natural expression though
    thanks Mal!
    you are right, as always!
I focused my attention on light, and I failed on composition... next week I will pay more attention!
    thank you

    Hi Nicola,

So many people have P52s running I find it impossible to get around everyone's every week, my apologies for not contributing sooner - and there are loads more folks I have never (yet) responded too

    Yes, this is better.

The only thing is; I had a feeling, nothing stronger, that the original wasn't quite level and a small anti- (or counter-) clockwise rotation would have helped. However, I could be wrong and it is all to do with your neice's posture.

That flash is very well done, congratulations

Dave, your apologies are not needed.. I can understand you (and all other Mods & Admins) are very busy!

    thank you for your note!
looking at the bottle in the 1st vesion, it really seems you are right, it needs a counterclockwise rotation! thank you for this and all the time you helped me!
    cheers

Good crop, good focus on the eyes with nice contact, looking right at you, the lighting is excellent.

    Cw07

for this week I 've had in mind to practice on focus stacking images,
(as some of you did very well recently!)
anyway I'm still fighting with this technique without any barely decent results...
So I decided to change the goal for this week: near here it's been cold as neither I nor the oldest men in the city can remember. local newspapers and magazines and any kind of media, are full of picture of the frozen city. My goal is to capture a postcard to remember these days, trying to be as far as possible from all the picture I've seen on this matter on local photo shops and magazines.
i just have a few pictures... below is the result
    thanks for viewing

    Interesting shot there, Nicola.

You have managed to retain good detail in both the light ice areas and the shadows.

I think you've achieved your goal. As Geoff says there's a lot of detail captured in all areas of the photo - and it looks really, really cold there!

I haven't had the time to work on a defined subject or goal in the last few weeks...
but at least, I went out and shot! and it is not bad for an amateur
here a pic taken on week 8, the subject will be soon one of my "most frequently captured"...

    thanks for viewing

When viewed at the large size in the lightroom, that image makes a very powerful impact. We feel as if we are taken right into the action.

I like the composition Nicola, boat moving into the space, the right amount of land in the background gives perspective but doesn't distract from the main focus, the red jackets catch my eye immediately and I am drawn to the people then I look at other aspects of the image, very nice
