Hello everyone! Just joined yesterday and I am very VERY new to digital photography aside from the millions of photos I seem to snap using my Iphone!I purchased a Nikon D5100 as an early Christmas present to myself and this past weekend, my kids and I went for a visit to my Aunt's house in the northern part of Michigan. It found my kids very excited to see some snow for once this winter! It's been unseasonably warm this winter, and they haven't seen much snow. While outside playing, I thought I would just take an opportunity to capture them in their element. I thought I might post a couple of photos from this weekend. Mind you, they have been only slightly processed as I have just downloaded the free trial of Lightroom and am still working on navigating it!
So here it goes! Any feedback or suggestions are appreciated! Thanks for looking! Allison
Looks like a snowball fight, but it's my 3 year old daughter Kaitlyn just tossing snow in the air

I really like pic #1. The snow complement her very well.
It might be the processing but the snow looks slightly brown. Perhaps check the white balance in LR.
Btw, beautiful kid you have there.

Bobo is spot on. A little white balance adjustment and you are off and runnning!

Thank you everyone! And thanks for the suggestion on the white balance
I'll go in and play with them a bit more I'm still getting the hang of Lightroom, and these had very little processing to them!
