My Corner
I was walking through my living room a few days before Christmas. Saw this out of the corner of my eye and thought "There is a picture there!" What drew me to the shot was the way the lamp lit the picture and the other wall hangings. Also, the antique look.
Here is the corner of the room using flash.
Here is the best I could come up with. I metered on the lamp so it would not be blown out too badly and used a low level flash aimed at the tree from camera left.
Exposure Time 1.3 second
Lens F-Number ƒ/3.8
ISO Speed Ratings = 100
Well, after racking my brain for days, three evenings of shooting and about 125 shoots, I am wondering if I was wrong about there being a picture there.
Any thoughts or ideas? The tree is still there, yea we are kinda slow.

Re: My Corner
They definitely tell a story Reed. I do prefer the second one as it emits more warmth than the first, making it a place you want to curl up with a good book I think all its missing is either Santa or perhaps a person with their nose buried in a book.

Re: My Corner
Thanks, Kerry. The first photo is just to show the overall scene.
I just feel like I missed something in the second shot.

Re: My Corner
Hi Reed,
I suspect the feeling may be because it feels a little cramped; it could do with being a wider angle, so we see the top and bottom of the tree (and chair) for instance.
Good exposure and balance of fill flash, maybe a bit of gel to warm it next time though.
Something living would also help, if not a person, perhaps a pet if you have one?
Cheers,
