Lovely framing and composition Hasso, you have done very well with a heavily cropped image

Now that (11) is a very fascinating image with the sharp water drops in space in front of a background flower that is beyond the DoF of the water drops. Neat image!
Can you provide a little background on how it was produced?
Camera, 2 flashes, flower, backround and water. One flash directly to the flower(pentax AF240Z), auto mode on and flashhead zoomed to 135mm. Distance from subject about 15-25cm(5,9-9,84"). Second flash to the right from flower about 1m (3ft) and 45deg(from subject) and lower(flash head about 30deg up). I used Vivitar 283 and manual mode on. So there is a light setup. But the hardest thing was how to get water drops. Pentax have done a big bug. Only with Pentax own flashes You can get sync speed higher than 1/180. With radio triggers the fastest sync speed is 1/160(double F...). So when water drops are falling, then they get little to speedy. I took the syringe and made water drops to rise. One hand with syringe other hand on shutter. Result is like it is. Other specs...lens carl zeiss tessar 50mm/2,8 F18 and macro tube. One flash more and result could be much better for me. 2 flashes gives details and 3-rd makes backround alive.
Fantastic Hasso and thanks for sharing how you took this photo. A very minor point from what I can see is that the top right of the of the flower looks every so slightly washed out compared to the bottom left. Is the flower actually that way or is it just a bit bright there?
Fascinating technique, Hasso!
I agree, that some places are "over heated". Only practice and practice can help here. Second problem is the Pentax AF240Z flash. There is only 3 mode. Manual mode was needed otherwise the lighting wasn't cover the blossom and program-or-auto mode wouldn't give light as much as needed. But obstacles are good always, You have to figure how to get over of them.
Hi Hasso, I like what looks like different layers, the sea, the mist, the city, the sky.
The image looks like a scene from war of the worlds I like the way you have captured the birds in the mist
Perhaps the blues and yellow are a little oversaturated.
What are the round things in the foreground
Other than the distracting text, I find it to be a fascinating and unique image even if the blues appear unusually strong. Nice one, Hasso!
Can't see your Week 12 photo Hasso
Very nice as usual Hasso. In Tallinn in Gold my one comment is that I'm finding the ray of light on the left pulling my eye continuously towards it, which lead straight up to some hot spots in the distance. I love the colours though - very unique
You can see also well trained ducks...
What wonderful colour Hasso, the foreground is exceptional, I agree with Mal about the ray of light on the left, otherwise a facinating image
