Extremely pleasant red on that leaf. Simple in a good way, no distractions, and it's beautiful.

If you like critique; perhaps photo looks a bit arranged, maybe you could have been a bit more shrewd with the installation, or cropped it so that one cannot see those stems(im not sure about the word, i mean the point from where the flower starts..) But lovely photo!

Well,it was arranged,Reima,in the sense I had removed many fallen flowers from around that red bract.
The banana flower is an inflorescence. Everyday, in the evening a bract opens up revealing nectar-rich,white flowers. The bats visit them in the night and the banana-butterfly in the morning. By about 8AM the bract and the male flowers start to fall down.In this particular case there was an old yellow banana-leaf on the ground upon which they fell and waited for me. It is a beautiful sight, with the slanting golden morning sunlight on those fallen bracts and the flowers cast out in disarray (I was late.)
I have been spending some time trying to shoot a bat, but it is much skilled at beating me. Immediate threat has priority over hunger!
BTW banana is a large herb, not a tree. What you see above the ground is a cylinder of leaf-petiole sheaths - a pseudostem. The actual stem is underground.
