Re: Portrait in pseudo infra red
Hi Richard!
There is much to like about this photo. The composition is great. I love the bright hair with texture, I love the eyes, I love the vignette look in the corners, and I love the 'tonal range' (even though I hate using that term, makes me sound like a stuffy photo critic geek).
I'm not sure what makes it IRish though? Looks B&W to me?
Looks great, good work

Re: Portrait in pseudo infra red
Photo Shop Elements 10 has a series of selections for converting to B&W.
They are: Infrared effect, Newspaper, Portraits, Scenic landscape, Urban snapshots, and Vivid landscapes
The Infrared effect seemed to look best on this image so I chose it...
BTW: I shot this using a 7D with a 70-200mm f/4L IS lens. Lighting was a single Canon 430EX on a Stroboflash Camera Flip Bracket bounced off the ceiling modified with a Joe Demb Flash Diffuser Pro. See some of my my other portraits at www.dembflashproducts.com
Here is this portrait in color...

Great portrait, very good composition and angle. I really like everything about this this shot and the conversion to B&W. Nice work Richard.

I prefer the B&W - I think she highlights better in the B&W than in the colour. Great capture.
