Gold Coast Botanical Gardens - In The Eyes of a Thirty Eight Year Old

Thought I'd better be brave enough to show my work from today compared to Jazz's. Given that my shots have a bit more PP and were taken on a much more modern camera, I think the winner for today definitely goes to my darling daughter! Hope you enjoy and C&C as usual always welcome.

Looks like you all had a lot of fun. I love the second shot with the reflection of the duck. Looks like you focused on the reflection, it looks sharper to me or maybe it is just the nice dark colour of the water.

The real winner though, is the shot of Jazz the photographer. What concentration.

I was using my old Tokina lens which tends to be soft at full zoom and needs bright light for photos to have a chance of coming out sharp. Kerry was using the 55-300mm so I was a bit stuck for anything with reach. I need to replace it sometime as it feels like a relic from the Cold War.

Jazz is awesome. She spent the previous night scared of spiders but today she took some macro shots of them And I guess I'm still a much better people photographer than any other type!

You both had much better luck than I did. Oh BTW Mal you're 37 not 38 I really like the dragon fly shot, but would have liked to see a greater depth of field. However, I cant really comment, as I said you guys had much better luck than I did

Duck #1 is great, love the sepia colour, spot on focus, the lillium has wonderful colour and the DOF and composition is good.
Sounds like it was a good day out
