Project 52 by Rob Douglas week 2 "Another bright idea"
Thought I'd play around with my new wireless shutter release and some long exposures for this weeks project.

Cool shot - can you elaborate on the long exposure? I can't figure out how you went to a long exposure and also lit the bulb so to speak?

Glad to Peter,
50 sec exposure (focused at the bottom of the bulb where it meets the base)
ISO 100
f/11
I used a Kenko 25mm extension tube with my 28-135mm lens to minimize the focus distance.
I soldered a set of fine wires to the base and used a 9v battery to light the bulb (the 9v was almost dead to get the dim glow) as it hung about 2' in front of a piece of black foam board. I rotated the image 180 deg and cloned out the wires.

Ah - makes sense now. So the filament only had a really small charge!
Well done - I like the effect and love the thinking behind it.

Thanks Peter. I thought I'd think outside the box on this one. I thought it would be a challenge to actually get the shot I was envisioning in my head.

Nice job getting the exposure on the base without blowing the filament. Good thinking.
