Very colourful and good depth of field Joe. the last one is my favourite.
Lovely shots and you caught most quite well. I like 2 and 7 best. The others are good but the light on them is slightly unbalanced. Consider using a flash with diffuser at half power or thereabouts to even out that lighting. f8 or f11 will get much sharper with more areas in focus.
nicely done. One suggestion: if there is insufficient DOF for everything (usually the case with bugs), I think it is often best to make sure the eyes are in focus, particularly if the eyes are not facing away. Also, the closer you can come to having the bug parallel to the sensor, the less problem DOF will be--like #1 & 3.
Very beautiful photos!! Nice Job.
Very nice. #7 my choice.
Thanks to all for your comments, a special thanks to Bobo and Dan for your suggestions to improve my photographic journey. Each post I learn more from this community.
Beautiful images. I agree with Bobo & Dan but would also like to add one more thing. The last shot would look much better if the flower behind the right wing wasn't there. A slightly different angle maybe to get the body of the butterfly to hide it, or another angle all together. You could try toning it down a bit or possibly a bit more blur on it to separate it from the butterflies wing.
That's beautiful Joe. One more possible thing, how do you feel about an even crop off the top & right to keep the aspect ratio correct? I like the background to the left but feel there is a bit of open space to the top & right that could benefit from a slight crop. It would also bring the subject out of the center and into the upper right 1/3.
Thanks Bobo.
Excellent work Joe. You nailed it.
