Re: Few more shots from Afghanistan
Hopefully the children he touched remember his kindness in the years to come.
It's a pity that we only hear about the servicemen that do ugly things in those situations - there are far more doing kind things!

Thanks, Brian
You're so right. There has been and continues to be a tremendous amount of good works that I wish we all could know more about- would renew some of our faith in ourselves, methinks

Re: Few more shots from Afghanistan
Great shots once again documenting this troubled time and showing us that even though these children must be going through hell they can still smile and carry on with life as normal. I will be showing these to my very spoilt chrildren and hope it makes them realise how lucky they are. Saying that my 2 kids gave half of the money we were going to spend on them for Christmas to a childrens charity and had nothing but smiles on Christmas day when they only had half the pressies as usual.

Re: Few more shots from Afghanistan
More excellent shots. Thank you and your son for sharing.
I agree with Brian... When the military does humanitarian things it is not at all newsworthy however when a cruel event occurs it is very publicized...
I have recently read a book "How We Lost Iraq" in which the writer who was a journalist in Iraq admits that his publishers did not want to hear anything good about the allied military and let their correspondents know this.

That is "news" my friend. The good stuff they leave for documentaries but even those nowadays seem to go for the "bad".
Good pics by Kevin jr.
Btw some of the horizons need a bit of levelling.
