What a cutie - great shot...
beautiful
good framing and sharp. overall flat appearance, no real black or white, suggest you try to improve contrast with PS and LEVELS
keep trying ,you are going the right way!
Ken makes a good point that it is worth giving attention to.
The decision whether to go for an image with a lot of contrast that has good blacks and whites, or one with lower contrast that is created within the spectrum of greys and doesn't include either blacks or whites, is, I suggest, one that has to be made a on conscious level.
Perceived wisdom is that a monochrome image has to have blacks and whites; i.e. the clipping points have to be taken right in to at least the respective edges of the histogram, if not beyond. I don't agree with that. Study the earlier work of someone like Paul Strand and you see what can be achieved by a master who didn't always have blacks or whites in his images.
But is is soemthing that you should arrive at just by accident. You have to study your subject and decide how you want the finished image to look.

I like it....great expression, nice catchlights, shallow depth of field and good face lighting makes her jump out at you. Good job...and for the photo too.
