Re: Lens For Nikon D80
This is a lens I gave away to a local school with an old Nikon film body - it just wasn't up to the standard of sharpness you need with a modern digital camera. It did work on D80 body and I have kept one very long distance shot (50km) at 300mm, but generally too soft. If it is available on trial or cheap, ie under $60, maybe try it with camera sharpness set to 'high'. (I normally have it set to 'medium high' for 18-135 & 80-400 as 'high' shows halo on adequately sharp objects)

Re: Lens For Nikon D80
It will work on the D80 but the IQ is pretty poor compared to the later VR version, and there is a considerable price difference between the two versions. In Australia the G model is $299.00 but the VR model is $919.00
