Looks very good to me, what is it you would or think you would like to see?

Not sure if it should be sharper and if I have been a bit clumsy with the sky??
Ok, to me you have a very nice sky, it is a bit strong on the right hand however the sun is there. I too an learning CS5, did you do a levels check, and adjustment and you might try a curves layer to lessen the shadow in the tree line. What do you think?
i did check the levels before i processed the sky etc. should i have done it again afterwards? will try the curves again as well. thanks Allan.
Hi Anne
I think your treatment of the sky is fine but I would like to see the trees sharper. I tried sharpening in PS without success - I think they are out of focus and there's not much you can do about it. Did you use manual focus on this shot ? I find that manual focus is the safest on a low light shot.
Overall though it's a nice shot.

The 'problem' with that shot is that there isn't anything in sharp focus so it all looks a bit 'soft'. If you could have managed a sharp focus on the tree line it would have been better.
But when shooting into the light, that is often impossible to obtain. Allan has done what he can but going any further, which is what is really needed, would be likely to cause other problems.
I suspect that if you had focused on the middle distance water and got that sharp you would have a great improvement. It is just one of those difficult scenes.
However, just as a suggestion. I wonder if cropping away part of the sky and turning it into something like a 2 x 1 ratio might concentrate the view on the more important items and make them appear stronger.
Thank you for your comments Dave, and yes I did use manual focus. I think you are right about the trees being out of focus so I will learn from that. Thanks again I really appreciate you taking the time to comment. Anne
Thanks Geoff like Dave you are right and I think if I retook this shot I would focus on the water. Your suggestion sounds reasonable and might work better so I might have a go. Thanks again for taking the time to comment.
