    250 images stacked

    Worked ok:

    250 images stacked

    250 shots stacked, componon 28

Full details and 1:1 crops here.

Is it an intentional thing not to be able to link images outside anymore? This blasted javascript seems to take precidence - or am I doing it wrong?

Questions etc answered on my Flickr here.

    Good grief!

How long does it take to do that?

Supurb image, Johan. How did you manage to get 250 meaningful images to stitch together? Were you using a particular macro sled? I've not been able to get increments small enough to do this level of detail.

What software was used ? I've been contemplating Helicon Focus. I have Tawbaware's TuFuse Pro, but found that even my Sigma 28mm Macro Prime has a slight variance in magnification as the focus is adjusted throwing off the focal blend results.

    Nicely done !

Wonderful image and many thanks, Johan. I'm pretty much a newbie to macro, and one of my goals for this year is to improve my macro skills. I've been using Photoshop CS5 for stacking my shots, and I haven't been happy with the results. After reading this thread and visiting your Flickr site, I downloaded a trial copy of Zerene Stacker and reprocessed some shots I had previously stacked with CS5. The results from ZS were far superior to anything I've been able to obtain from CS5... and that was on the very first try, just flying thru using the defaults. I must say I'm impressed, both with your image and ZS. I think I've found an important tool today, thanks to your post. Again, thanks for the info.

Nicely done, I inadvertently took about thirty shots of a structure and it took forever for my 4/3rds to save to my memory card.

As dead as dead can be . Extreme macro is this winter's project for me and there isn't too much insect life going on other than what the fly zapper in the kitchen gets me =(

Zerene stacker is great stuff if you get into extreme macro.
