    Foggy Field

Here are a couple of attempts at capturing early morning fog across a field. Have I captured the mood ?

The fog works fine for me, Dave, but I'm not keen on a fairly large area of shadow in the foreground. However, in this case, you probably couldn't do much about it.

Particularly in relation to the first, Dave, my thoughts were exactly the same as Geoff's.

I notice you cropped this to a 16:9 ratio. How about doing it to 2:1 ratio, using the existing top of the frame as the top of the new crop? You would not only lose some of the bottom shadow, but you'd also move those trees down a bit so that they're not so much on half way.

The light you have captured on those trees (right and left and in the background) on the fog and on the hill in the background, is just wonderful.

Love this photo! The colors are great and I love the way you have captured the fog but still have a great color shining through. I like the second crop also!!

Thanks everybody for your comments. I think the new crop does look better. Sometimes you don't just see these things when you're so close to the image - and this is where independent review is so valuable.
