Nice image showing a bit of the culture... Where was it taken? Surely not in Portugal!

I have never seen ice fisherman use rods this long when ice fishing. In our colder areas where there is ice fiching, we either use very-very short stibby rods

There isn't ever any ice in my area either but, when I lived in areas where ice fishing was possible, I usually found something else to do!

I like the silhouette composition. Looks like a beach to me, with the water being off the photo to the right?

I too would go with a beach shot. Ice doesn't lean at that angle and they don't look dressed for it. I've seen people fishing right off the beach into the surf and those rods look about right. Just a suggestion....a shot from the left looking out to sea and including some of the fishermen would have composed it to a point I wouldn't have to guess. The B&W doesn't add to the photo for me.
