    Hello from Dumbarton, Scotland

    Hello to everyone on here..

I live in Dumbarton, Scotland near to The Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond. I'm a keen photographer who has just bought a new canon eos camera. I enjoy taking sports photos and i've just started taking night photos as well

When you join one of these forums I suppose you expect the first reply to come from someone on the other side of the world in some exotic location.

Well, tough! Hello from just up the road and right a bit!!

But that doesn't make it any less meaningful. Great to have you here. Thanks for joining. You'll see one or two from your part of the world on my website if you ever fancy having a look.

I hope you enjoy being part of CiC. It is a great resource in which people are very willing to share knowledge and experience.

By the way, what have you bought?

    Hi Donald

Thanks for your reply, yes Glenfarg is not too far away.

    I've got a canon 500d.

You mention your website, do you have an address for it

You can help me understand how to use the chat and website at Cambridge Colour Forum. It is a little confusing.

    Thanks.

I have removed your e-mail address from your posts for your own protection. We don't encourage people to insert e-mail addresses into posts on the forum.

Re your question about using CiC. As you can see, CiC is not a social networking (or chat) site. It is a structured forum comprising several sections. You can see these by pressing the 'Forum' tab on the menu bar above. That guides you towards the appriopriate section to use depending on what your question or issue is. If you want to post an image for comment and criticism, then you should use the 'Nature & Architecture' and/or 'People and Pets' section.

You have the option of either replying an existing thread, in which case you just use the reply button that you find underneath the last post in a thread. Or you can start a new thread - in which case yopu choose teh section into which you wish to put your message and 'Create New Thread' within that section.

As well as the forum, CiC is made up of the tutorials than you access by pressing the 'Photography Tutorials' above. These are often noted as amongst the very best tutorials available on the web.
