    Still life x3

I'm trying to get more creative, so had some time on my hands.
Natural light, tripod, macro lens - plus some stuff from the fridge.
I don't do many still life images, so comments welcome.

I'm no expert at still life, but these look pleasing to me.

Very nice. These types of photos look nice framed and hung in a kitchen. I love to try food still lifes......did you try changing the white balance to different settings, to see what effects you might get with those?

Definitely some nice photos there. I think for me the backgrounds in #2 and #3 are a little distracting with the texture that's visible and take away from some great subjects. Do you have a cloth with a finer weave or perhaps consider using some black of white paper cardboard to remove the textured background from the shot?

I particularly like the lighting on and the processing of, the 3rd one. There's a vibrancy in the fruit and the veg.

I think the fact that someone tries something different and starts to let their imagination get to work in the creative process, is wonderful.

Mal - The texture was that of one of those reuseable grocery bags.
I've seen these type done with burlap sack/hessain material which I think works really well - and this was the closest I could come. Obviously not the right choice.

Donald - the third one (with the oranges) is actually the only one composited PP wise. One piece of fruit was used. Have you ever tried to peel a segment of orange? Not easy, this was the fourth and even this broke, I was just able to salvage

Thanks all for your comments, I feel encouraged to continue in this vein.

(where the heck has winter gone?, New camera, new rucksack no snow or ice - horrible)
