More Elephants
On the Chobe river floodplain in December during the intense heat of the day this elephant family were slowly heading for the mud pool to bathe. At the time the idea was to capture the whole family in an environment that showed the open African spaces and skies.
C&C most welcome
There was a lot of testosterone flowing this day and these two young males were pushing and shoving for ages. Although an action shot I think this one is a bit too tight as at the time the Sony DSCH1 camera could not zoom out any more.
C&C most welcome

Re: More Elephants
Hi Clive,
You certainly have some great photo opportunities, I am envious
#1 - to get more 'open sky' I could suggest shooting from a lower camera position, but I suspect your options are somewhat limited and probably preclude getting out of a vehicle, crouching down and peering at an LCD screen and not keeping an eye open on what these, and any other local animals, are up to.
#2 - you were too close - the mind boggles
I'm sure you know what you're doing, but I'll still say "Stay safe",

Re: More Elephants
For me, Clive, I think there is sufficient sky with #1 as it is. Anymore would risk throwing the balance too far.
Good shots all round.

Re: More Elephants
Hi Dave, many thanks for the comments. It is frustrating sometimes being restricted to the vehicle but at other times it does act like a hide and offer different opportunities. #2 was a bit close and straight after this shot I moved away.
Hi Bobo,thank you.
Hi Geoff, thank you.
