I think I'd have Kobe (I'm assuming) in a different coloured shirt so he stands out against the red a bit more. The roof line in the left middle cube is noticeably different to the the roof lines against the cubes beside it - not sure what can be done about that. For some reason the top centre and the centre middle cube keep grabbing my attention - I think it's because they're both very symmetric poses, but that's probably a minor point.

    It's good though - I like it a lot

    Good points Mal.
I wondered about the shirt color before the shoot, but I think it worked out OK. At least I didn't get a Tshirt with words or pictures on it.
Funny thing about the perspective about the left middle photo - my model was having a meltdown at the time and I lost control of the shoot and didn't keep my camera at the right elevation. For this shot lesson learned

I like the idea and composition of this shot.

Expanding on what Mal said, Kobe seems to be leaning on the right side of the box that gives the feel that the box is tilting to the right and there's a slight tilt (a crop would settle this). Just a thought if Kobe in the bottom left corner could lean on the left of the box IMHO it would give a sense of balance to the photo.

That is a super-creative image, and Kobe is going to be proud to have it
in a few more years when he has a son of his own.

I tried flipping sides on the bottom left corner, but unfortunately the left wall
doesn't line up correctly. How would YOU improve this photo?

    I love it Brian,

Perhaps dress him different in each shot as you have changed the hats you can change the shirt. Great shot.

Thanks Wayne, good idea on the wardrobe changes. Hard to get my 12 year old son to get dressed at all!
My daughter said he wanted to do one - this would be MUCH easier for wardrobe changes!

Mike, after I had a rough draft of the photo done I showed it to my son and thanked him for helping me make a really cool photo that I could keep forever - the smile on his face was priceless!
For now, it is a gift to my wife.

You've created something that's priceless - no question about it You're wife will absolutely love it... and you'll probably have an easier time of it when you do the same thing with your daughter.

This is really a very nice image. Super cool! I like the fact that you shot each image keeping the correct perspective for each box.

Great job! Your wife will be very happy with it!

    Thanks Mal and Tono.

I wasn't really sure what to do with the border. Any suggestions there?
The edge of the box is bright white to begin with and blown out at that
    So white worked good hehe.

Great effort Brian, something for your family to treasure, and yes girls are easier to change clothes.

I think it is perfect! Just wondering how you obtained the shadowbox itself?

I love this idea also! You have a great imagination here - and I agree that your daughter will have no problem with changing wardrobes for each box shot!
Did you make the shadowbox yourself or buy it?

The box came with my house. It was built into the wall over the fireplace for an old fashioned type TV (CRT).
I have never really used it for anything until now. It used to be a boring beige, but I painted it red specifically for this project.
    Thanks for your comments

That is too funny - We just bought a house in Oct. like that..... but it's built in, so I don't have a box. We covered the "hole" with our TV.
Here is the before we moved in picture and after (excuse the mess!!!).

It keeps me warm - just enough to take the chill out of the air in the evening! It's cleaner than wood; but propane isn't cheap. The flame is kind of small - not very "real" looking ha ha! But I don't care - warm is warm!!!
