I would clone out that wire though, Krisztina.
I'd agree with Geoff on the wire.
Also, in the first one, it's pity you didn't point the camera up a bit so that we could have got the top of the outside rainbow into the frame. It didn't need much.
Double Rainbows are very nice to see! Love it! =)
Re: cloning out the wire- I understand it is an eye sore- but I know it's there- those who know my yard know it's there- I didn't want to do too much post processing on this photo- I really wanted to remember it for the moment. It is a shame I didn't catch the arch in the other rainbow- I was underneath my patio- which was actually dripping with the rain from the roof- I poked out a bit, but my lens/camera got wet- I immediately stepped back- took what photos I could before it disappeared- also my 2 yr old and 8 month old were right there with me- We really enjoyed looking at it- taking the moment in. Thank you for viewing the photo, and your comments!!
Krisztina
Personally, the first image would have looked better showcasing the entire double rainbow, but it is what it is. And as far as the second one. I'd say the wire helps to add "lines" into the sky. I actually like that composition, you can see enough of the rainbows to know there's 2 of them. and I just love that color and focus. It's gritty.
Amazing, aren't they?! Thank you for sharing!
Wow! Just the other day I was talking about rainbow photos with a friend who caught one. So, I googled "How to Photograph a Rainbow" Thought this was an interesting thread: BTW I do subscribe to the site and they send out tips of the week/month.
Lots of information and ideas and at no cost. For example, they sponsor a weekly assignment, this week is "Minimalism"
Google that term and find some amazing examples of a very tempting goal for photos. But, I ramble......

PS Krisztina, thanks for sharing the "emotion of the moment" you shared with your kids and it is terrific you grabbed the camera. Hopefully years from now when you grown kids look a the photo they will be reminded of a that special moment with their Mom on the back porch, and they will not be thinking anything about composition!
