Looks good Bobo. I like #2 especially the light on the closer duck, unfortunately the one on the right could possibly have been a bit more in focus. I like the B&W, I tried recently and found it difficult to know when to stop but it looks like you are spot on here.

About b/w - I struggle a lot too. But mallards have such a multitude of colours that they make the toning variations pretty simple.
Not sure actually if it is a good conversion or not but looks ok to me.
