Caravan to Bimmerfest:

Worked this image pretty good, did 3 layers of sharpening only to realize it was to much, brought back the blown out sky, and recovered a lot of detail from the shadows. To fix all this added a layer of grain to blend it all together.

I was lucky to get some access at the last 24 hour endurance race here in Dubai. Lots of great cars up close and personal!

Phil, great shots looks like a lot of fun, that kind of access would be really cool.
Ryo
Thanks Ryo - very lucky to get access to all he photography areas, pits, briefing rooms etc. It was a full on 24 hours! I'll have to post the series of shots at some point
Phil I am really digging #5 have you done any PP on it? I think you could take it to a new level with some minor touch up or go over the top with it. BTW you have the action shots down, I look forward to your series. Together they tell a story of the day.

PM sent
It'll be a long thread! 24 hours is a lot of cars and shooting! I have colour and black and white, so I'll post the black and white first.
Peek a boo:

Kinda cool with the screen showing faintly.
Thanks

You ever frame up a shot in camera, only to get it open on the computer and what you thought was a good angle, really doesn't work:
http://i1088.photobucket.com/albums/...130124Orig.jpg
The angle was too steep, I should have took a few steps back, and recomposed. But being head strong *stubborn. I tried to get it all in the shot from my vantage point. With alot of cloning I was able to rebuild the blank areas. After some touch up and crop:

Thanks
Ryo
Hi Ryo, I'm not sure of what your goal is in shooting at this angle but I would likely clone out the objects that make the angle obvious such as the telephone poles. If they are not there, the viewer has a more realistic vision of the scene. I might also consider a driver leaning into the climb. A lot depends on what you are trying to achieve for a final result. :D
just a couple from today for your enjoyment, or amusement.

'67 Shelby Cobra

2012 Chevy Camaro, Lingenfelter modified

I have no idea what you would call this other than MASSIVE.
Jon; I love that capture of that Cobra. The raised BF Goodrich really pops!! I am sure you caught it during editing but watch out for the reflections. #3 is an Air Force....2.5Ton(deuce and a half) convert... its Massive, if you get a second go at it a lower angle would give it a Massive feel. #1 looks bigger because of the perspective... but we know its a small car.
Good stuff keep it up!!
Ryo
Thanks Ryo. The Lingenfelter Camaro was 18" away from the Cobra...all roped off together. Shelby GT 500 on the other side of the Cobra. Sorry no pics of the 500 but it attracted too many people.
Took a few pictures today at a Mustang car show.

@ Frank, the first image was a rotated crop, the original the ground was almost vertical. Before I pressed the shutter, my intent was to capture the car and the setting sun. (alas not enough lens) So I stretched by shooting corner to corner, only to realize it was to much of an angle. To fix up the image, I did the cloning. (the lengths I goto to save an image...)
@ Ron they go crazy on Mustangs out your way!!! Great captures. Really digging the pearl job on the last one.
Ryo
Ryo, I took these with you in mind...only the USAF would combine a Mustang and a jet cockpit.
Behold...I give you the USAF X-1

Leave it to the Air Force... now all they need is an ejection seat, and we are in business.
Thanks
