How do you remove cluttered backgrounds?
I thought this was pretty amazing.

To much background or not too much?

Thanks Donald, don't know if the motorbike goes, I've never seen anything like it.
Re: How do you remove cluttered backgrounds?
I reckon I need special equipment :(

Noticed the wiper and sat nav, back to the drawing board. :(

Different method until I discover a better way to extract background noise. Is it too busy?

Hi Steve,
Since your Bugatti #124 in post 409, I prefer the latest one; BF5827, although I'd have preferred a slither of gap on the left to separate the tyre from the edge of frame.
The mini (F8RNY) comes across as too much the 'model/miniature' for me.
In any shot with red in the background (actually all the rest), it just attracts the viewer's attention away from the subject, so whether colour replacement might work is debatable.
Very challenging location, I find grass fields bad enough!
Cheers,
Re: How do you remove cluttered backgrounds?
I tried a different method in BF 5827, using only the mask option in Topaz Detail3 sharpened the car but then using the smart tool in Helicon filter selectively blurred the background. These seem to be easier to use than Remask3 where everything looks ok until right at the end full size.
Sometimes ReMask3 is really good but only in very special circumstances where there is a clear difference in colour, but if there is a similarity even only in a small part it is murder.
As for wheels next to corners, yes. It didn't start out like that but I didn't allow enough room for perspective correction, and have had to make compromises. Not too much with BF 5827 but a lot with the MG.
The motorbike was similar, just way too much distortion to hide so either I showed it with lens artefacts or cropped on an ellipse, the red was supposed to give it a devil look but suppose it doesn't work. I think the ellipse could be feathered as well.
Cheers Dave.

A day at the track...Indy 500
OK, I will admit it...I am slow! Trying to capture a car zooming past at 240+ is mighty hard. Well, maybe next year will be better.

the pit stops were a little bit easier

...but I got a lot of this...
