    Thanks Ryo,
I did not see your post in time today but will be going back tomorrow. I had plenty when I came home but will only post a couple from today. Lots of shade and bright sunshine coming through and the place was packed and more coming in all the time. C & C welcomed.

A very famous car in OZ. Getting ready for the dummy grid at an historical race meeting. Pete Geoghan's car, it won everything in its day.

Hi Carl......Although the 1958 Edsel is my all time favorite car, this 1959 is absolutely stunning. I definitely would not pass up the opportunity to own one, if the price were right, and I had a place to store one. I love the angle of your shot, because it is the grille that I love so much. Thanks for posting this.

    Thanks Jim,

I love the grill also and just had to have that angle on it, I am glad you are pleased with it as well. Many of the cars out there are for sale but I did not see a sign on this one. I would have had to settle for the photograph any way lol.

Carl good set, I think there are some dis-tractors from each image. I love the willy's (huge bubbly fenders are so nice in a photo!!) But I find my eyes being drawn away from the subject by the orange ford ranch.

Graham did you get anymore shots of Geoghegan ford? That car has some serious heritage!! I don't think I would pony up the cash that the present owner paid for it!!! snicker snicker..

My take on someone else's concept:

    Thanks

    Thanks Ryo,
I arrived early but there were so many cars and all parked close together. I am going to have to learn how to change the background out if at all possible in PSE10. I have another shot of the willy's but still more cars right near by.

    Pete was a legend,
Oh for the days when there was a bit of variety in the field.
    I miss the comaro's and jag's etc.
Maybe next year when they bring back Nissan and Mercedes.
    Cheers' Greg

I doubt it. The super V8s are really just standard tubular frames with the look of the cars they are supposed to be. The controls are so tight that the engines vary very little and the running gear is all the same. That is why they run so close together. You will never see a Mini dive under a Mustang again except in historic racing.
Even F1 has become so tightly controlled that it is technically boring. Everyone reckons Red Bull is cheating if it is 4 tenths quicker than the opposition.
I was horrified watching the Bathurst 50 year celebration last week during the race to realise they completely ignored all of the winners who drove anything except a Holden or Falcon V8, well except Jim Richards who won once in a Nissan but then it is hard to igonore Jim....

Still this is supposed to be about photography.

Re: Automobile 101 A Chev and a McLaren

    Hi,

I have a Chev and McLaren. Photographed at a local steam operating day.
    Neither as you would expect.
The Chev. I didn't record the model, but it was a beautifully restored 2 door coupe with a dicky seat.

The McLaren is not a product of the company Bruce started but here it is warming up and in motion...

Again not speedy or sleek but with a unique grace.

Graham good captures, I have had the hardest time convincing my son that the Mclaren is not a train!!

    Coffee and cars? Nice idea.

Nice images. I miss restrained and elegant use of chrome and figures on cars.

Don't know if this is of interest. Saw it up in Eucha on Sunday.
Think it is used as an advertising prop for local bakery.

This thread seems to be getting into all kinds of motor vehicles including tractors!

Here is a link to a very interesting vehicle that looks like a cross between a car and a truck so I guess that makes it an SUV?

Ryo, these are a bit lacking but I thought you might like a couple of the cars. These were taken with my little P&S at the SEMA show year before last. Almost forgot I had these images.

What a fun set, would have been great to see in person. I really like the superbee in the last shot!!

A gathering down the street...snuck a few shots of the Audi R8. Still trying to get schedules together for a chance to shoot the car, and maybe drive it. The lighting really sucks in this garage, please forgive. Just a teaser for what is hopefully to come.

Dang it Jon!! I opened this thread and saw that R8 gas cap and got all excited!!(didnt bother to read first) That truly was a teaser. I look forward to the images!!

    Here is my latest:

    Automobile 101

4 stitch shot, I did while waiting on everyone to show up. Tossed them in to CS5 let it work its magic in Photomerge. I got some feed back on the distortion, but I like the way it looks. Got my first attempt at rolling shots; more to follow!!

    Thanks
    Ryo
