That, I think, works very well. It's the contrast between the beauty of the rock - its texture; its solidity; its permanence - and the 'fun' of the toy.
And it tells a story - Who was it that was playing with it? Where were they playing with it? Were they very upset when they lost it? Were they promised that another one would be bought?
