Good bit of work, Don. You've made a very good B & W image. Excellent work on the sky.
One (no, two) suggestions for you to consider.
- A small clockwise rotation that levels up the shoreline,
- A 2:1 ratio crop that puts the lower horizontal third onto the shore line. Why? It takes out a bit of the water and possibly (open for debate) slightly changes the overall balance of the image.
But remember, we're allowed to get nit-picky like this when we've got a strong image to start with.Last edited by Donald; 22nd February 2012 at 06:19 PM.

I agree with Donald's comments. A great image but just a little tweaking on the crop I think would work to create better balance.

I have a lot of images similar to this in regards to the sky and water being broken up by a "sliver of earth" in between. I always vascilate between moving the "earth sliver" up and down and sometimes cannot make up my mind.
I also like your b&w treatment of the image, it fits the weather pattern really well. I bet this scene would have made a really good time-lapse quickie clip too.
