I got Jazzie to pose for me before we went out for dinner the other night. She wont do a simple pose though, she likes to ham it up for the camera. I did like this one, and dont mind the lighting! I have played with it somewhat as it was quite grainy, and still is slightly, I've toned it down which I dont mind. I quite like B&W grainy photos. I have my camera on Auto ISO, so its 6400??? Could I have feedback and thoughts, I am not good at Portraits and its something I'd like to improve on.

I suppose the first thing I notice now, LOL, is the elbow is cut-off, would have been better with her elbow in the photo??

It's not so much her left elbow (our right) not being in the frame, as her right arm touching the bottom of the frame, that caught my eye.
She's a natural model. That's a super pose. I quite like it with the noise in it as well.

I like Graham's tighter crop. I think the pose is good and the expression is awesome. If it were my image, I would try to see if I could brighten her face/eye and/or darken her arms in front. I'm not sure the focal point/DOF is right for this though.
As far as ISO 6400, if you don't want auto to use it, I would think that is a programmable option in your camera - it is in my Canon 60D - mine is set to max 3200 ISO in auto. I have shot some photos at 6400 ISO looking for interesting grain, but I have been consistently disappointed in this regard - but also, i ramble on...

It's set up to go to ISO 6400 in auto but Lightroom usually does a good job of removing any excess noise on her camera.
