It's a beautiful composition. It looks like you used a graduated filter. Don't know whether it's digital or physical. To me, the demarcation seems too sharp and it catches my eye. Is it possible to move the darker section up closer to the ridge line?

John - As you can see in Jeff's original post, he tells us that this is achieved through the application of HDR technique.

I have witnessed times where the sun is at such a point to have that type of line occur naturally. Hills and valleys at times will do this. Although it does look rather straight.

I love the warm colors in the foreground, the cooler colors in the midground, and then the warm colors again in the background. Just a lot of fun to keep looking at this image.
