I am going to take the information you have provided and try some test shots to see if I can discern the differences.

I will update my list of books, but before ... I want to share an article presenting a graph about S/N ratios for various ISO values over raw levels. It is interesting to see that how high ISO values beat low ISOs at the shadow region without any difference at the highlight region.

Hope it helps, Miltos. Concise and very informative about noise sources. But, the above graph is illusive alone. I'm planning to read the complete article in this weekend.
