ACCEPTING ENTRIES: Monochrome Mini Competition #474

This is a monochrome-themed competition that is open to all CiC members.

ENTERING. Add your MONOCHROME/B&W image in a new post below. Make sure to change your post title to a name for your picture (click the "Go Advanced" button). Only one entry per person, and any tinted images should utilize no more than one color. For help posting images, go here.

VOTING. When this competition reaches 10 entries, a poll will be automatically added and any member may then vote. After 2 days, voting ends and the winner is determined.

Once voting begins, a new competition will be automatically started.

    Good luck!

Notes: Please do not request feedback or comment on other images until after voting has closed, as it could be unfair to other entrants. Photos must be your own, and never entered into one of our prior competitions. We also ask that only recently taken or edited photos be used as entries (in the spirit of motivating everyone to continually improve).

PS: Make sure to also vote on the previous competition here.

    Round Barn in Bradley Creek

    Monochrome Mini Competition #474

The barn looks small but it is actually 2-3 stories high with a pass thru on the bottom where cattle would pass thru. The top was used for grain and hay storage. Now the barn is gone and the christmas trees are growing but neglected.

    Hi Wendy,
Thanks for your kind words! All very encouraging to me. In the picture you are looking at four young trainee Buddhist nuns in the tunnel at the Wat Umong in Chaing Mai city. One of the girls turned around to look back up the tunnel, just in time to see me holding up my camera and they all giggled with self consciousness and shyness. It was a lovely moment. This picture was taken on my little Leica D-Lux4 compact camera, which is all I had with me that day, otherwise I would probably have zoomed a bit closer to the subjects. However it was a classic case of "The best camera to use is the one that's with you" !

Congrat's also to MiniChris who tied with me at 1st place. Nice picture Sir!

I do really like these mini-comp's. They're short & sweet and a lot of fun.

The minute I saw this photo, I knew it would be a winner cause more than the techniques, the moment seen on it is forever and anyone can actually feel the vibe this photo brings... It is also the classical example of right place, right time and then, getting the perfect shot! Excellent work!
