But if I colour balance it properly, then my image should show what I see and what you would see if you were here .... if you see what I mean!
I was diagnosed with CSS - can't see 'stuff'. I did the diagnosing.

So, I went to an eye specialist last week. I was having difficulty using my camera and seeing other items. She diagnosed me with "off center, eye center" in both eyes. Not all that uncommon, but not something some eyedoctors find - like my last eye doctor. I was glad it was not something worse, and this can be mostly corrected with the proper lens cut and frames. I will not have my glasses for another 10 days, I am excited to see how much of a difference this will make for me.

I don't know about around the rest of the world, but, here, you can sometimes find that people are reluctant to admit to a colour vision problem. Don't know why it should be thought of in that way. It was a problem as a kid, but once you grow up you just get tired of the idiots who go around saying, "So what colour is this?" - And yes there are the intellectually challenged adults out there who do it!

Significant numbers of the male population have a colour vision shift - I've heard 30% quoted. And, of course, it varies in nature. The most common form is, I believe, a red/green shift, which is what I have. The biggest problem I have is if I wanted to participate in the game of snooker. Without very close scrutiny, I can't tell the difference between the brown ball and the red balls.

And, yes, I can see red and I can see green. But I see a different red and a different green than you, who does not have a colour shift, can see and/or the colour in each will be a much closer match than you see.

So far as colour photography is concerned, if I reproduce what I see, then you will see what you would have seen if you had been there. But if I start playing around with sliders, then all sorts of interesting things can happen. Call it artistic licence!! But if you have a reliable advisor to hand with whom you can check things out, all should be fine.

Donald, if i send a skill/creativity sucking parasite to you, could you place it in your ear for half an hour and then post it back to me. I so love the shot and can only aspire to taking shots that good

Sorry. Already bled dry - just seen this month's pay-cheque pass in and out of my bank account!

Thanks Trev. Still have to pinch myself to appreciate that people say things like this about images that I produce. If someone had told me 4 years ago that I could do this, I'd have laughed at them.

The master at work. Magnificent Donald, I can see that as a canvas on my wall. Concerning the color version when the leaves break out I wonder what sky you will choose. Will it be clear blue and cloudless, or a sky with puffy white clouds, maybe grey or stormy. I wonder.

Joe, you've just started me thinking. The 'normal' shot would be with a cloudless blue sky, but ..................! Mmmm. Dark & menacing. Now, there's an idea.

EDIT - Just been looking at your own 'Foggy Morning' again. You did get a wonderful gradation of light on that.

Thank you for the compliment Donald. The shape of the tree is very similar to yours. I always sit on the screened porch in the morning to read the newspapers and CIC on my laptop. Glancing out I saw how foggy it was, so foggy that details that would have detracted from the scene were screened out. So I hurried to get my camera and capture the mood of the morning. Now there's an idea for you to consider, that tree and a foggy morning. But then the hills in the background would not be visible.
