Monochrome Mini Competition #479

[Cambridge in Colour]

This is a monochrome-themed competition that is open to all CiC members.

ENTERING. Add your MONOCHROME/B&W image in a new post below. Make sure to change your post title to a name for your picture (click the "Go Advanced" button). Only one entry per person, and any tinted images should utilize no more than one color. For help posting images, go here.

VOTING. When this competition reaches 10 entries, a poll will be automatically added and any member may then vote. After 2 days, voting ends and the winner is determined.

Once voting begins, a new competition will be automatically started.

Notes: Please do not request feedback or comment on other images until after voting has closed, as it could be unfair to other entrants. Photos must be your own, and never entered into one of our prior competitions. We also ask that only recently taken or edited photos be used as entries (in the spirit of motivating everyone to continually improve).

Took this immediately after a rare winter snow storm, at least it is rare this year. Normally we get 170" of snow, this year, to date, we are under 50".

Don't know Jon - it is a TinyPic thing that happens occasionally (about 1 in 250 times), a picture just disappears

All you can do is re upload and post it in the next available MiniComp and try again.

Another thing that happens (even more rarely) is that a member will suddenly find themselves unable to upload any pictures to TinyPic and will receive a message that their IP address was responsible for uploading unsuitable material. This can be quite worrying, but due to the way some ISP (Internet Service Providers) use dynamic IP addresses for their customers, it is usually only a temporary problem where the one you get (for a day or so) happens to = the one the real culprits used. TinyPic doesn't/can't differentiate, but they still 'ban' the address (I guess they have to do something). If this happens; usually switching your router/switch off for 5 minutes, and on again, cures it.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but these things occur outside of CiC, so there's nothing we can do.

Wow, thank you everyone. Close race. Wheels - great atmosphere in your picture: I needed a cool drink after looking at it. Chris - love your photograph and thanks for the advice a couple of days back - it really has helped with the post-processing.
