HMS Liverpool
The Royal Navy ship HMS Liverpool is being decommissioned,here she is heading for the shipyard that she was built in,Cammell Lairds for a final farewell.

That's got to be viewed larger in the lightbox. It's a very fine image.
You've got the vessels beautifully picked up in the sunlight and the 'in-shade' surface of the water closer to us provides a perfect 'base' on which to sit the rest of the image.
I also think may people might have been tempted to squeeze more out of the sky in terms of definition. But you have kept it subtle and 'quiet'.
A really nice piece of work.

Thanks for your kind words,before setting off to get some shots I had a pre-conceived idea of getting some of the ship sailing past the Liverpool waterfront with the buildings behind.But as with many notions before you get there it did'nt work,by the time the ship got there the sun had gone in and the contrast between the gray of the ship and the buildings was very low.It just goes to emphasise how you should'nt go with set ideas in your head and then not be flexible once you get there.
