    bridge at night

took this whilst out on late night walk. The sky is actually sapphire blue due to long exposure at 3am in morning. The building houses the bridge mechanism (the bridge swings up to let boats through) is orange hence I killed the colour (for once ) although I kind of like the colour one too so post both.

    First the b&w

    bridge at night

    and now the colour

    bridge at night

I heavily desaturated the yellow and set wb to tungsten to kill the sodium glow (it doesn't look dark but it was)

Davey, the black and white version is very a really punchy shot. Full of atmosphere. he black expanse at the bottom of the shot adds to its appeal and balances the image well.

I like the colored image very much.
Amazing how the sensor captures the scene at that time in the morning with - apparently - almost no light.
To shoot at full moon is also very interesting.

Very interesting effect. Almost looks solarized.

    Hi Davey,

I too prefer the colour one. (that's 'prefer' as in the 'I really like' context)

I'm not sure about the benefit of the railing bottom left though.

Those sodium lamps are a nightmare (should be banned IMO ), I wish it really looked like this and support the idea to do that with WB, makes a much more pleasant photograph to view.
