An evening visitor
Pine martens are fairly common in this part of NW Scotland and this one (or its relations) has been caught on a trail camera virtually every night for about a couple of weeks now.
Last night it arrived early so I thought I'd try a photo. I was a bit concerned that the flash would scare it away but it did not even flinch. It wasn't that bothered by me opening the back door either - it ran off a few feet and then returned a couple of minutes later.
All comments welcomed.

Nice Dave. I've never seen one ... which is awful.

What a beautiful coat, and look at those claws! Good capture, now if you might catch him sans the bread.

What a lovely looking animal and a great image. Now you have "one in the bag" please try as Paul suggested without the bread.

Re: An evening visitor
Thanks all.
I've known this particular area very well for about eight years and in first six of those years I saw pine martens on four occasions. In the last couple of years they have become much more common; one night last week three visited together.
A good challenge Paul to get one without the bread. I'll need a different bait, perhaps just a smear of jam or peanut butter on the ground.
