Photography as a scientific tool
On another forum specializing in time lapse photography, this link was posted and I felt this would be a good group to share it with:

This is an online Nova episode which follows photographer James Balog who is tasked the job of photo documenting climatological changes occurring in the cryosphere. ( Ice sheets and Glaciers )
I'm not interested in bringing up any form of political debate. The reason for my post is to provide an example where photography can serve both as a scientific tool while at the same time capturing beautiful images, The photography is stunning and well worth a look.
