Just joined and excited to become part of the community. I have been on a couple of other forums and have quit because of the rudeness and brash remarks that were being made on them. From what I have seen here it looks great.

I am a Nikon user, D 300 with more lens than I need (but still looking for more), 3 SB 600 stobes, SU 800, triggers, lighting equipment, etc. I love any type photography but am very interested in becoming better at taking portraits. I have focused on them for a year now and getting better but looking at others work I sure have a long way to go. I am hoping to get some good helpful advice here. thanks for having me.

Thank you Paul, your images are great, the skylines are beautiful. I am happy to be here and will post some photos as soon as I can figure out how, seems like it is different than other sites. Is it better to use smugbug and direct peope to it? Maybe I am understanding it wrong but on other sites you just browse, pick your photo, and your done.

Thank you Paul, I guess I will have to join smugmug, it looks like a good place to show your images. I see you have the 11-16, just got one 3 weeks ago and have not used it a lot but I love it. It is the first wide angle I have had. I will try to post a picture.

Nice car, John! The colors and reflections really grab attention. I'm not sure what the bright yellow spots are above and below the tire are but they do pull your eye's attention away from enjoying the rest of the image. I would love to be able to see the more of the engine but that's just because I'm a guy that enjoys that kind of thing! LOL!

Thank you Frank, This is as shot, should have cropped the yellow sign at bottom out. Not sure what the one in back is, this show was packed with cars and people. I wanted to try out the new lens and had never used one before so it was trial and error. I was more concerned with playing with the lens than paying attention to what else was in the frame. I had a lot of nice images that were ruined because of people behind and around a car I never noticed at the time. Here is a little more engine for you

Simply beautiful! If you play with post processing at all, it is fairly easy to select just the vehicle and mute or even completely replace the distractions in the background.
