Wireless Shutter Release For Nikon

Hi All,

Please help me in finding a (budget) Wireless Shutter Release component for Nikon (Nikon D200). While browsing I found lot of brands and types, so I am totally confused.

Please advise.

My Objective: To take more long exposure shots ranging in minutes.

hi, there are multi can remotes from hama , they work good with my gear so may be also with yours

for long exposeures in minutes :
tripod with remote control and vr lens , that is the best , if you want the disparering of cars , bicycles and pedestrians set it to S mode on the tripod , first activate te remote , go back to main menu , prefocus and wait for the right shot , set the remote accroding to distance

only check the D200 has radio receptor
The Nikon infra-red (same thread) does need to be used from in front of camera

Hi Dirk,
Nikon recommends VR be turned off when tripod is used. When there's no motion, the VR modual will generate its own motion. Also, Nikon pro and semi-pro cameras do not have the IR port so IR remotes will not work. I believe he's talking about MC-30 or MC-36 equivalent.

Sorry Ajith, I don't have experience with any of the remotes. But would like to see pics with mins long exposure when you get a chance to post them.

the 1st, 2nd and 4th and 6th pics are 30 sec exposure.

All Images are 30 sec ex - San Francisco (Bridge)
(The Max exp I can get with timer)

Just an update, I bought Phottix Cleon II N8 Wire/Wireless Remote Control Set

Yup, the Phottix Cleon's are pretty good. I have the Phottix Plato myself, which I just purchased. I will be using it this weekend while attending a workshop. I'll come back and post my experience using this little shutter release. The best thing I liked about the Plato is it uses readily available AAA batteries, which is a lot more convenient and cheaper.
