Frank, that would appear to be a "Venusta Orchard Spider",
and close cousin to the Orb Weaver.

Great colors on that little guy Frank. Not sure I have ever seen a pastel sider.
It's one I've never seen, very well done.
Thanks Paul and Bob. I had never seen one before now either but I almost ran into two of them at different locations yesterday. I couldn't get a good capture of the other one.
Not something I would want to run into Frank. Great capture, as Paul said "wonderful colors".
great shot Frank. Good the way you have clearly captured the intricate details of the web. Not easy to do. Never seen one of these spiders. Don't even know if we have them down under. Handsome little devil with lovely coloration.... No Frank, not you. I was referring to the bloody spider!

Well done. An extremely interesting critter, we don't get these colourful types here.
The web is great, this may almost convince me to learn how to use layers or whatever you did to achieve this
Great subject, great shot. You even managed to get the background in complementary colours. Well done.
Thanks Bob! It only takes a couple of minutes in most software that supports layers and masking. Just load multiple images as Layers and use a soft brush to paint the mask with the parts you want to blend into the original. Fortunatly I didn't have to be concerned about the background not matching as it was nothing but a blur at this DoF.
LOL! Yes, Bobo, but I had no control over the background other than which direction I took the shot from so I got lucky this time!
I would'nt mind if just a teeny-weeny bit of your luck rubs off on me...
