This was taken very early in the morning. It was overcast and windy the clouds skidding across the sky. Every now and again a short burst of sunlight would appear, on such an occassion I snapped away.

Hi Bobo, thanks for the comments. Oddly I've only ever seen Cheetah in this type of habitat not in the wide open plains as usually pictured in Serengeti or Ngorongoro.

There is a patch of out of focus foliage near the top, Clive, which I find distracts my view of this excellent animal.

Therefore, I would like to crop it out, but that may cause a size ratio problem, unless a square crop would work.

I think there would still be sufficient foliage to set the scene in context.

Hi Clive, this is one of those capture moments where, when I visualize how the final image will look and realize that I don't have enough space in front of the subject, that I try to find a matching empty patch of foreground/background to shoot that I can add in post processing to get the needed space.

The timing, just as the sun hits the side of its head and down its flank and picks out the leaves above the animal, is wonderful.

At first glance I thought the background to busy/confusing but the more I look at it the more I realize why this beast has such beautiful natural camoflage. I always love youir pics Clive.thanks for posting.
