Trying to find my Inner Artist
Hello,
I am trying to expand myself and get a bit creative with my photography. This is one attempt and I am after any feedback on things like the border and placement of the wording, oh and the actual photo, as that is central to the whole image. I am aiming at trying to produce something that would work as say a print. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Cheers

That is the sort of image that does stop people and gets their attention. Well done. You've picked out the light on the web beautifully. I think the inner artist is well to the fore with an image like this.
A concern I have about the image is that lighter vertical strip just right of centre near the top. It's obviously something on a post or similar. I wonder if toning that down a bit so it is less obvious, would help the image?
People always seem to suggest that for a colour image, the border should be picked from a colour in the image. Don't know how useful a 'rule' this is. The title is fine - It's not encroaching onto the image itself. That is when it becomes a problem

Re: Trying to find my Inner Artist
Hello Donald,
Thank you very much for the compliment and the advice. I did a bit of a retouch, tried my hand with the clone tool as I could not figure any other way to lessen the impact of that strip, which was a fence pole by the way. I have also tried a different colour with the border and I had a re-think on the wording. The original wording may have made me seem a bit wary of all things pretty . Thanks again and I look forward to your thoughts on the changes.
Cheers

Oh yes. I think that is now a much stronger image. I, too, would have used the clone tool. You have made a very good job of using it.

Very good after the edit.
About the frame colour - the new one is better but still not quite there imho.

Hey Bobo,
Thanks for the feedback, here is another try at the frame, a different colour and a bit darker. Please let me know what you think, I think this one highlights the picture better.
Cheers

Re: Trying to find my Inner Artist
Much better.
Though frames are not normally my thing, the odd times I try to be "artistic" and use one, I will use the color picker and click within the pic to see which colour within the pic would make it stand out better but without the frame being overpowering.
