advice needed with canon eos 1100d

hi guys hope some can help me i will really try to keep this short.

i dont know if it is me being paranoid but i plugged my remote trigger into my camera and then unplugged it both while my camera was switched on. as i unplugged it i noticed that on my lcd screen my aperture box which was set on 5.6,started to flash then went off. my 1st thought was i have damaged my camera by unplugging ,remote trigger with camera switched on.
now i have become paranoid ,because ive never took much notice before but now . i will try now to list my settings that are missing and hopefully someone can tell me if this is normal.i am pretty sure things are ok but im just a bit unsure, here goes.
p mode it does not display shutter speed or aperture ,there are also 2 more boxes empty however i cant tell you what should be in these boxes one is to the right of awb,the other is below iso setting.
tv mode shows shutter but not aperture ,think this is right
av mode shows aperture but no shutter speed, again think this is right
manual shows both of above as would expect
a dep show doesnt show shutter or aperture.
all the settings are obviously visible in viewfinder.

the other thing i noticed at the same time is when i half pressed shutter button while looking at lcd screen that my shutter and aperture settings flashed for a few seconds then went blank.
im really sorry if all this sounds stupid but,i have never noticed what the settings on my lcd are doing as im usually looking through my viewfinder.

    many thanks as always glenn

    Hi Glenn,
I don't have the 1100D but I will look at my 550D and see what is displayed. I am at work during the day so it won't be until this evening.

thankyou so much pavel i was in two minds about posting the questions ,because i thought things were ok ,but i had never seen the lcd settings flash before and couple that with the fact i plugged then unplugged my remote shutter without switching off 1st.
i can sleep easy tonight .thankyou again.

I know Pavel has answered but just to keep to my promise:

I checked my 550D last night and it behaves pretty much like your 1100D. So I think that it is fine. I have also removed my remote trigger whilst the camera was on, and did it again just last night, and it has always been fine.
