Re: Hemlock Falls
Beautiful falls, Don.
I'm betting it was a nice hike in, too.
I must be suffering from some kind of optical illusion. The falls themselves look good, but the pool they are falling into looks tilted to the right by about 4*.
Maybe its just that my head is on crooked!

Re: Hemlock Falls
Terry, the pool behind the rock was fairly level but when the water reached the point where you can see it to the right of the rock there was a severe downslope and the water rushed down the stream between the 2 mountains that formed the gorge. It was a nice hike. Approximately 600 stairs down following the trail and of course 600 stairs back up. We were by ourselves and took our time and enjoyed the waterfalls very much.

Re: Hemlock Falls
Don, I am so jealous. I have climbed down that canyon four times, and the water never seems to be running that hard. I always take my four dogs with me so they can help me with the climb back up

Re: Hemlock Falls
Excellent shot, like it very much.
Ginny - 16 legs pulling sure beats 2 legs trying to do 600 steps up.
In younger days once had to take a team up to a military lookout bunker. 1200+ steep steps up (and then down). After a while a group of soldiers passed us sitting comfortably on mules. Were we annoyed!!!

They are great on the trip up...not so much fun when they are trying to pull on the downhill side. Too funny about the mules!

B-T-W Don, my "new" Avatar was taken at the bottom of the same falls.
