Hi Jason
this is a very difficult shot! and you did quite well,
unfortunatey, the focus is near the leg when it should be on the "eye"
perhaps next time you can try with a smaller aperture to increase depth of field. be aware of not decrease shutter speed!

Not spot on but good attempt these guys can be so difficult to catch the focus right

yes it was not easy,as could only get it on manual focus

The hind tibia is partly yellow and the front and mid tarsus seem totally yellow. Which would make this an Eristalis pertinax species.
Although a better view of the head would confirm if there was definitely a dark face stripe. If the face is completely clear Eristalis arbustorum is possible.
