I didn't time myself, but I'm sure I spent more time saving/uploading/reposting it than editing it!

Nothing I can add that is new but want to echo "Congratulations" and "wonderful photo". What fun you will have with that beautiful little one to photograph.

    Re: New Granddaughter

Craig, this pic is lovely and the main thing is that it captures the emotions of the moment, but...

...Sometimes when photographing children's skin next to adult's, it can show too much difference in textures/colours (I notice the mum wears make up, more noticeable against baby's skin).

You could have a try at turning this into monochrome... that way complexion differences are minimized... And it would stop the pink fingernails from catching my eye.

(Ah, if you can also try window light... a muslim curtain/diffuser could do a brilliant job in the right light)

PS: I hope you have a fantastic time capturing lovely images of your new granddaughter.

Absolutely fantastic photo. Congrats on the new addition to the family.

I hope to someday get a chance to take a photo of my grandson/granddaughter

Aww, what a nice image... thanks for indulging me, Graig... You already guess my opinion?
Now (I hope not to push you to the edge)... what about playing with the luminosity of different colours, to pump up the contrast and lighten the skin even more? ... or even introducing a nice photo filter in golden/orangeish tones, to make the image 'glow'?
... I know, some people can't quite stop gilding the lilly...

Click on one of the images in the lightroom and you can then move (using the arrows) between the three that are now here and make a comparison. It's still the original for me.

I like this one better than the b&w, though torn between this and the color version. I still think the baby's clothes need to be darkened a bit

Congratulations Beautiful lighting. I find my eyes going away from your granddaughter to the nail painting and ear rings instead of remaining focussed on the tender moment of the kiss. I hope you don't mind my mentioning this.

    Well done Grand Dad.

    Hi Alan
Not at all i totally understand your VERY VALID comments and what your saying. I did think should i clone it out or not but seeing how the image is going to be used in an album for the family i thought well... its part of how she wanted to look so i kept it in.

I would certainly have cloned it out if it was for proper shoot, not just a family shot.
Thank you for taking the time to view the image and your comments are very much appreciated.

    Cheers Craig;
I also use this as an observing exercise for me. Thanks for taking it with the spirit it was offered.
