Sunset Help Requested
I don't often venture into this sort of photography, so I need some help. This .jpg file is a crop from the 24x36 and converted. No other changes have been made. I would like to increase the contrast in the sky without losing what little detail remains in the forground. Perhaps this image is just done completely wrong from the get go (such as cropping some off the right side?). Any suggestions on how you would improve this image are appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Sunset Help Requested
One of the hardest things to do with all the pressure on one 'to race into PP before the film is even dry' is to know when to hang fire and leave well enough alone. This is definitely one of those times. Nice shot with great lighting effect. Maybe some might suggest a slight crop of the LH edge. But not having tried it, I am not sure. It could result in a retrograde step, image wise .

Brian
Without knowing exactly what you were trying to achieve does this help?

Thanks Bobo.
Ken, I never thought of cropping the left side. It does seem to accentuate the sun streaming through the clouds. Thanks for the idea

Re: Sunset Help Requested
Hi Brian,
Just a thought,I was wondering if cloning the hot spot just above where the sun is stearming through the clouds so as it blends in with the dark clouds around it.
I also tend to agree with Bobo.
Best Wishes, Pat

OK, after a little editing this is what I came up with.
